Information about no-fly zones may be outdated — please verify it here

Before planning any flight, always check the official Cyprus UAS geo-zones map and current restrictions. No-fly and restricted areas can change frequently due to temporary airspace restrictions, military activity, or airport operations.

The official source for up-to-date information is the Cyprus Department of Civil Aviation geo-zones system: https://drones.gov.cy/

The map includes:

Prohibited zones (red) — flying is not allowed under any circumstances Restricted zones (yellow / controlled areas) — flights require prior authorization Open zones — allowed under standard EU Open Category rules, with limits (e.g. 120m altitude, VLOS)

Important details:

Airports (Larnaca and Paphos) have surrounding controlled zones where operations are heavily restricted or prohibited Military and sensitive infrastructure zones may require special permission or be fully closed Temporary restrictions (NOTAMs) can appear at any time and are not always reflected in third-party apps

Some DJI maps may not match the official Cypriot geo-zone dataset, so they should not be relied on as the primary reference.

Always verify the official map before each flight, especially for FPV or long-range operations.
